The first article,"How this woman became the biggest seller on Etsy with $80,000 a month in sales", by Ashley Lutz [@AshleyLutz on Twitter] from The Business Insider. This article tells how Alicia Shaffer, owner of the Three Bird Nest Shop, became the most successful shop owner on Etsy. Lutz stresses the importance of excellent photography and titles in Ms. Shaffer's shop. Shaffer installed apps on her phone to increase the quality of the pictures and focused on flattering lighting. She gradually realized that she would stop treating her Etsy shop like a hobby and start treating it like a business. She hired an assistant to help manage her 20-hour workdays. Shaffer has since expanded her staff to 15 people who help make the products and ship out orders. (Three Bird Nest announced its decision to depart from the Etsy Marketplace in August, 2015. The decision was made by Three Bird Nest to leave Etsy in order to better focus on their customers through their own boutique website & wholesale channels.)
